Royal Ulster Yacht Club prepares her RIBs for BR24

Posted: 15/1/2024
The crews of Royal Ulster Yacht Club's marklaying and safety boat teams will be working through the cold months of winter to update and modernise their marklaying RIBs in preparation for BR24.

Fresh coats of antifoul have been applied and even a new engine has been purchased. Rory Flannigan who manages our marklaying and safety boat teams had this to say; "With Royal Ulster Yacht Club committing itself to running larger yachting events we have invested in our infrastructure and purchased a new engine for one of our RIBs. This new and larger engine will allow our crews to carry and move larger loads as well as allowing us to tow and assist the larger yachts that are now sailing at RUYC."

Looking towards BR24 Rory went on to say; "Everyone involved with the marklaying and safety boat teams here at Royal Ulster Yacht Club are excited to welcome back those yachts returning for another great festival of sailing and to welcoming new yachts alike. We look forward to laying and managing your racing come sun or rain."
